What To Look For While Buying Home Theater Systems In A Box

By Musa Mustafa

The growth of home theater systems is epitomized by the fact that every other person in the country owns one. They are extremely useful devices which can single handedly add value to even the dullest of films, television shows, and games. But, do they really work as good as they say? Supposedly, by attaching a home theater system to a television or a gaming console, an individual can turn a mundane day into one that is full of entertainment. But how true is it?

This is the prime reason why home theater systems are so popular in the country and, indeed, the world. When it comes to demand, home theater systems in a box take the cake by a mile. Unfortunately, an individual looking to buy a home theater system has to do a lot of research beforehand to understand what criteria to follow.

Home theater systems vary. There are home theater systems with less features and components which are more economical to buy. On the other hand, more expensive systems will provide greater quality of sound and variety of features. The following is the criteria people looking to buy a home theater system in a box should consider.

Video:

Knowing the future use of the home theater system is imperative when deciding which one should be bought. For example, simple systems usually just play DVDs while more advanced systems play Blu-rays.Effectively, if playing Blu-rays is a priority then home theater systems with this capability should be chosen.

Two examples of home theater systems that can do this are the LG BH6720S 3D Blu-ray Home Theater System and the new BDVN890W/Z Sony blu-ray home theater. However, if a simpler device is needed then the Samsung HT-E550 HTIB Home Theater System is a system that only handles DVDs.

Audio Capability:

There are four things that a potential home theater system buyer needs to consider while choosing which system to buy. These aspects are the Dolby digital sound style it supports, its total number of speakers, whether a sub woofer is included and the inclusion of a sound decoder.

Good audio quality and clarity would be seen in a system that has a lot of speakers, a sound decoder, a sub woofer, and proper Dolby digital sound compatibility. As is obvious, a home theater system's primary purpose is to provide exceptional sound clarity and quality. This is why it is important to consider these aspects very carefully.

Connection Capabilities:

The final decision of a potential home theater system buyer can be really important if he considers the connectivity capability of systems. From the perspective of connectivity, the potential buyer should consider which other electronic devices it will be required to connect to.

For instance, the new HT-E550 Samsung HTIB home theater and the LG BH6720S suffer on this front because they do not have any HDMI input. These systems can cause problems due to not having HDMI inputs which means that they cannot be connected to some types of electronic devices.

Another example of how a system can have connectivity issues is the Sony BDVN890W/Z.This home theater system's connectivity problem is that it does not support the Xbox 360 plug and play.

Additional Features:

All home theater systems should offer some extra features. This could include a remote control. However, each system comes with its own unique features.

As the Samsung HT-E550 has more auxiliary jacks than is normal, it can be taken as a good example. The LG BH6720S and the Sony BDVN890W/Z's special feature is the inbuilt WiFi connectivity.
