Maximizing Your Home Theater System

By Musa Mustafa

Reproducing the theater experience in the comfort of one's own home has always been the home entertainment dream, and the Panasonic SC-BTT195 blu-ray home theater system seems to have come closer than ever before. The device has many great features, one of which is the 3D imagery accompanied by clear theater-like sounds. Along with that, it fully integrates various smart networking devices like wireless LAN, DLNA, and iPhone connections. Along with that, the system can even use a smartphone as a remote.

Check out this interesting Yamaha YHT-497 Home Theater System Review

While they might not all be real, the virtual speakers provide just as much entertainment. Your speakers, no matter where you position them, will give the right sounds. To reduce noise distortion, the device features an anti-jitter digital amplifier.

We have obviously listed several benefits here, but there are negative sides to the system as well. The proprietary system does present a bit of a problem for any living room or home theater. While that might not be a problem for you right out of the box, you will find that it provides several problems down the line. For example, if the system becomes damaged, it will need to be repaired with proprietary parts. The wireless adapter as well as the inputs will be considered proprietary. While this might be a deal breaker for some, others will not have a problem with it.

In your Yamaha YHT-497 home theater system you will have plenty of benefits including the 4k Pass-through for next gen displays. With the front loading USB ports, users will be able to connect and use any of their smart devices.

Unfortunately there are a few downsides to take into account, one of which is the resolution change issue. Some users have been told that the black screen issue can only be fixed by changing the resolution. It is known however that the resolution can only be changed by switching to an HD channel.

Many home speaker systems do not fit a specific lifestyle, and people tend to have a problem with that. Individuals with smaller homes never tend to enjoy the larger systems. There are smaller systems available of course, though some of them do not measure up. With the Panasonic SC-HTB350 Audio System however, you will experience great sound with minimal distortion. In addition to that the Panasonic SC-HTB350 Audio System is aesthetically pleasing with a slim exterior and detachable speakers. If you want, you can use a wall mount for a horizontal setup. Listen to your favorite music using a Bluetooth compatible device such as a phone or Android mp3 player. Along with that, you will find that you can enjoy that home theater sound even if the television is turned off. These features make the Panasonic SC-HTB350 Audio System one of the greatest systems on the market, and a perfect addition to your home entertainment ensemble.

The most common complaint about this device is subpar sound. Along with that, WiFi connectivity sometimes leaves something to be desired. Those things aside, it is still a decent sound system.

Taking A Closer Look At Popular Home Theater Systems

By Adam Roell

If you are in the market for a home theater system, you will be lost for choice, with countless products to choose from. In this review, we tested just three of the systems available, starting with the Panasonic SC-XH170 DVD Home Theater System.

The basic setup for the three systems we reviewed is the same. They all have Blu-ray players and are all 5.1 channel home theater systems. Each of them incorporates a subwoofer, two central speakers, two surround speakers and one front speaker.

This is a superb system given all the built-in features it contains and the retail price. You can be the proud owner of the Panasonic SC-XH170 Home Theater System for around $175. There is a built-in USB connector for iPods and iPhones.

The SC-XH170 ships with Viera technology. This means it can connect to other electronic items that also include Viera technology, including camcorders, mobile devices and digital cameras. The total sound output from the SC-XH170 is a very impressive 1000 watts.

The system has an automatic sound equalizer, which eliminates those annoying volume increases during advertising breaks. Color coded wiring makes it easy to set the whole system up. Sound quality is excellent for the price.

There is not a lot to complain about with this system. It does not support wifi, which some people will find a nuisance.

The Yamaha YHT-897 Home Theater System is the most expensive of the three systems we looked at. Retailing at around $750, it is not going to appeal to people on a fairly limited budget. Its appearance is the most stylish of the systems, and it does come with technology not available on the others.

Yamaha's proprietary technology, AirPlay, is included with the YHT-897. AirPlay allows users to stream directly from iPads, PCs. Macs and Android devices. The YHT-897 can automatically configure sound settings based on an in-built acoustic analysis of the room the system is set up in.

The subwoofer in this system is just 100 watts. This is probably fine for watching movies, but not brilliant for playing music with prominent bass.

The Samsung HT-E3500 is the most basic system reviewed in terms of features provided. This is evident in Samsung's own description of the product, which is quite muted. The company provides only barebones information about the system. It does not state what devices can connect to the system through its USB.

The Samsung HT-E3500 Blu-ray Home Theater System costs about $215, and at that price is probably good value for money. The sound quality is quite good, and setting up the system is very easy.

Total sound output is just 500 watts. The speaker cables are very short, which greatly limits how they can be set up.

Of the three products reviewed, the Samsung would have to be the lowest rated. It is more expensive then the Panasonic, yet has fewer features and lower output. The Yamaha system is very good, and has some future proofing built in, but the key question is whether it is worth spending almost five times more on this than on the Panasonic.
